Shippen Hall Renovation & "Green Building Addition"
This project features a 60,000 sq.ft. renovation and a 20,000 sq.ft.
"Green Building" addition to an existing classroom and office building.
The H.F. Lenz Company was responsible for the mechanical, electrical, fire
protection, and communications design for both aspects of the project.
When completed, it became the first Green
Building owned by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.The new addition
involved several key aspects of sustainable design which were part of the
program requirements for the new addition. These elements created not
only a more environmentally friendly building, but also a less expensive
building to operate and maintain.
